The Eclipse Opening Roof is a powder coated aluminum shutter system mounted in a pergola like structure that can be attached to a home or business. The Opening Roof structure can also be freestanding on a patio, deck or pool deck. The structure can be built from a variety of products from wood to aluminum. Eclipse Opening Roofs were originally developed and used in Australia. The Eclipse Opening Roof migrated to the west coast of America in 1999. We are pleased to offer the Eclipse Opening Roof in the St Louis market.
The aluminum shutters rotate 160 degrees on a stainless steel bearing. Closed, the shutters provide shade and are watertite. The shutters are surrounded by a gutter system that captures the run off and removes it with downspouts. Open, the shades allow light, sun and air to pass through. The heavy gauge aluminum shutters are rated for high winds and are not dented by hail.
The shutters are operated by a twelve volt motor that uses converted 110 volt power. Alternatively, if 110 volt power is unavailable, the motor can be operated by a small 12 volt battery with a solar charger. With the 12 volt battery no hard wiring to the home's electrical system is required.
The installation process is similiar to any pergola or covered porch structure. Call us for a consultation to meet your needs.
